Yale YPL Pull Hydraulic Cylinders

Single-Acting with Spring Return | 10 - 51 Tonnes | 700 bar | Forged Replaceable Links

The Yale YPL range comprises single-acting pull cylinders with capacities from 10 to 51 tonnes at 700 bar operating pressure. The YPL design provides controlled high pulling forces - in neutral position the cylinders are fully extended, and as pressure is applied the forged links are drawn together. A built-in return spring extends the piston again when pressure is released.

Designed for shipbuilding, heavy vessel construction, steel construction and civil engineering

Yale documentation lists the YPL applications as shipbuilding, heavy vessel construction, steel construction, civil engineering, and general repair and maintenance. The cylinders can be controlled precisely by use of hand pumps or power packs. Standard YPL models operate in all positions; the YPPS-10/150 variant is the exception as it has an integrated hand pump.

Applications

Per Yale: shipbuilding, heavy vessel construction, steel construction, civil engineering, general repair and maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the YPPS-10/150 variant?
The YPPS-10/150 is a self-contained variant equipped with an integrated hand pump similar to HPS-2/0.7 A. No external pump required. Note: this variant cannot be operated in all positions - only the standard YPL models offer that flexibility.
How does the pull cylinder work?
In neutral position the YPL is fully extended. As hydraulic pressure is applied, the forged links are drawn together generating pulling force. When pressure is released, a built-in return spring extends the piston back to ready position.
Can the YPL operate in any orientation?
Yes for standard YPL models (YPL-10/150, YPL-20/150, YPL-30/150, YPL-51/150). The YPPS-10/150 with integrated hand pump is the exception.
