Conquip Block Grab Forklift Adaptor

Model FA105 | Block Grab Yoke | Forklift & Telehandler Compatible | 3000kg WLL | UK Manufactured

The Conquip Block Grab Forklift Adaptor — also known as the Block Grab Yoke — is a fork-mounted attachment that allows a Conquip Block Grab to be used with a forklift or telehandler instead of a crane or excavator. It replaces the standard lifting eye on the Block Grab, converting it from a crane-lifted to a fork-mounted unit and opening up block and brick handling on smaller sites where crane time isn't available. The adaptor is delivered to site already fitted to the Block Grab — no on-site assembly required.

Key Features

  • Swivel mechanism — allows the operator to position blocks accurately without repositioning the carrier
  • Standard fork pocket width — fits straight onto most forklifts and telehandlers without fork adjustment
  • Heel pin retention — secures the adaptor firmly to the forks during use
  • Direct Block Grab interface — replaces the lifting eye, no other modifications needed
  • Pre-assembled delivery — arrives on site already attached to the Block Grab, ready to use
  • Robust UK build — engineered for repeated commercial site use

* Working Load Limit (WLL) — the maximum safe lifting capacity.

UK Manufactured | LOLER Compliant

Manufactured in the UK to current safety standards. Supplied with all relevant documentation. The Block Grab itself must be hired or purchased separately — this is the adaptor only. Inspection every 6 months by a competent person is required to remain LOLER compliant.

Suitable Applications

The Block Grab Forklift Adaptor is intended for sites where blocks and bricks need to be moved short distances and there is no crane or large excavator available. Typical use cases include housebuilding plots, smaller commercial builds, and yard handling at builders' merchants. The reduced handling distance compared to crane lifting also lowers load swing during transit, increasing safety on tight sites.

How to Use the Block Grab Forklift Adaptor

  1. Confirm the adaptor is correctly fitted to the Block Grab (factory-fitted on delivery).
  2. Position the forks at the correct width to enter the adaptor's fork pockets.
  3. Drive the forks fully home and insert the heel pins to secure the adaptor.
  4. Approach the load and lower the Block Grab over the blocks.
  5. Lift to engage the Block Grab's mechanical clamping action on the load.
  6. Transport at a low travel height with the load tilted slightly back.
  7. Place at the destination, lower fully to disengage the Block Grab, and reverse out.

Warning:
The Block Grab must be hired or purchased separately. Do not exceed 3000kg WLL. Always confirm heel pins are inserted before lifting.

Safety Information

  • Inspect heel pins are seated correctly before every lift.
  • Do not exceed 3000kg WLL.
  • Travel with the load low and tilted slightly back to the carriage.
  • Keep personnel clear of the load path.
  • Six-monthly LOLER thorough examination by a competent person required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I have a Block Grab but no excavator or crane on site — does this solve my problem?

Yes, this adaptor is designed for exactly that scenario. It converts a crane-lift Block Grab into a fork-mounted unit so you can lift blocks with the forklift or telehandler you already have on site.

Q: Is the Block Grab itself included?

No. The Block Grab is hired or purchased separately. This product is the adaptor only — it allows an existing Block Grab to work with a forklift.

Q: Do I need to fit the adaptor myself?

No, the adaptor is delivered already attached to the Block Grab. It's ready to use on arrival.
