Conquip Fork Mounted Hook

Model FA810 | 3000kg & 5000kg WLL | Swivel Hook | Forklift & Telehandler Compatible | UK Manufactured

The Conquip Fork Mounted Hook is a forklift attachment that converts a forklift or telehandler into a mobile crane for lifting and moving smaller loads short distances. The swivel hook design โ€” built around a self-locking ball bearing joint โ€” lets the load rotate freely without transferring stress into the hook itself. Available in 3000kg and 5000kg working load limit options, both sharing the same compact footprint and 40kg weight. Heel pins fix the attachment to the fork tines, and the hook lays flat when not in use to prevent the common damage that affects fixed-hook designs.

UK Manufactured | LOLER Compliant

Manufactured in the UK from high-quality steel and supplied with the relevant test certificate and EC Declaration of Conformity. The self-locking swivel hook is rated to rotate under load. LOLER thorough examination required every 6 months by a competent person.

Technical Specifications

Product Code Length (mm) Width (mm) Height (mm) Fork Pocket (W x H) Weight (kg) WLL (kg)
FA810-03000 840 520 226 148 x 64 40 3000
FA810-05000 840 520 226 148 x 64 40 5000

* Working Load Limit (WLL) โ€” the maximum safe lifting capacity. Both models share identical dimensions.

Key Features

  • Self-locking swivel hook โ€” high-quality ball bearing joint allows the hook to rotate under load without transferring stress to the attachment
  • Two WLL options โ€” 3000kg or 5000kg to match site lift requirements
  • Hook lays flat when stowed โ€” prevents the common damage seen on fixed-hook designs
  • Forward/back swivel โ€” adjusts to fork tilt without placing stress on the hook or carriage
  • Heel pin retention โ€” secures firmly to standard forklift or telehandler tines
  • Compact footprint โ€” 840 x 520mm, 40kg, fits where larger lifting equipment can't

Suitable Applications

The Fork Mounted Hook is the go-to attachment for sites without crane access where smaller loads โ€” bulk bags, plant equipment, packaged materials โ€” need to be lifted or repositioned. Typical uses include moving aggregate or sand bulk bags, lifting compressors and pumps, repositioning packaged building materials, and any task that would otherwise require a goods cage or small crane. The 3000kg variant covers most general lifting needs; the 5000kg option suits heavier plant repositioning.

How to Use the Fork Mounted Hook

  1. Position the carrier's forks at the correct width to enter the attachment's fork pockets.
  2. Drive the forks fully home into the pockets.
  3. Insert the heel pins on both sides to secure the attachment.
  4. Confirm both heel pins are seated before lifting.
  5. Attach the lift sling, chain, or bulk bag loops to the swivel hook and confirm the hook latch is engaged.
  6. Lift smoothly, allowing the hook to rotate as needed under load.
  7. Transport low and tilted slightly back; place gently at the destination.

Warning: Do not exceed the WLL of the model in use (3000kg or 5000kg). Confirm the hook latch is fully engaged on every lift. The attachment is for short, controlled lifts only โ€” do not use to slew or swing loads.

Safety Information

  • Confirm both heel pins are inserted before every lift.
  • Confirm the hook's self-locking latch is engaged on every load.
  • Do not exceed the WLL โ€” choose the 5000kg model if loads regularly approach 3000kg.
  • Adjust load centre calculations against the carrier's rated capacity.
  • Do not use the hook for personnel lifting under any circumstances.
  • Six-monthly LOLER thorough examination by a competent person required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why would I need a Fork Mounted Hook on site?

If the site doesn't have a crane or goods cage, this attachment converts a forklift or telehandler into a mobile lifting unit for small to medium loads โ€” up to 5000kg WLL on the larger model. Common uses are bulk bag lifting, plant repositioning, and material handling.

Q: How is the attachment secured to the forks?

Heel pins on both sides โ€” they pass behind the heel of each fork and lock the attachment in place. Confirm both pins are seated before every lift.

Q: Can the hook handle different load shapes?

Yes โ€” the ball bearing swivel joint allows the hook to rotate freely under load, so it self-orients to whatever's hanging from it without transferring stress into the attachment body.
