Conquip Forklift Crane Arm

Fork Mounted Telescopic Jib | Fixed or Adjustable Angle | 3000kg & 5000kg WLL | UK Manufactured

The Conquip Forklift Crane Arm is a fork-mounted extending jib that converts a forklift or telehandler into a long-reach mobile crane. Available as a fixed-angle 3000kg unit or an adjustable-angle 5000kg unit, the telescopic boom extends from approximately 2350mm closed to 3850mm extended, with multiple hook positions for different load sizes. The adjustable variant adds angle adjustment for awkward overhead loads. Both versions ship with self-locking swivel hooks, fork pocket retention, and a removable storage leg. A practical alternative to crane hire for handling long, awkward, or overhead loads on sites where a forklift or telehandler is already in use.

UK Manufactured | LOLER Compliant

Manufactured in the UK from heavy-duty steel and supplied with full LOLER certification. The swivel hook is rated to rotate under load. Adjustable variant uses linch pins and quick-release pins for length and angle changes — refer to the user guide for safe adjustment procedure.

Technical Specifications

Product Code Type Length Closed (mm) Length Extended (mm) Width (mm) Height (mm) Fork Pocket (W x H) Weight (kg) WLL (kg)
FA811-03000 Fixed Angle 2350 3850 685 500 198 x 78 180 3000
FA807-05000 Adjustable Angle 2347 3847 661 666 198 x 78 260 5000

* Working Load Limit (WLL) — the maximum safe lifting capacity at the rated boom position.

Key Features

  • Telescopic extending boom — closed approximately 2350mm, extends to 3850mm for additional reach
  • Multiple hook locating positions — adjust the WLL/reach trade-off to suit the load
  • Swivel ball-bearing self-locking hook — rotates freely under load, keeps stress off the boom
  • Adjustable variant — angle adjustment for awkward overhead loads up to 5000kg
  • Removable storage leg — stabilises the unit upright when not in use
  • Standard fork pockets — fits most forklifts and telehandlers without fork adjustment
  • UK heavy-duty build — engineered for repeated commercial site use

Suitable Applications

The Forklift Crane Arm is the go-to attachment for sites that need crane-like reach without the cost of bringing a crane in. Typical uses include placing roof trusses, lifting prefabricated steel into position, transporting long pipework or scaffolding, handling cladding panels at height, and any overhead lift where a forklift or telehandler can reposition closer to the work area than a crane could.

How to Use the Forklift Crane Arm

  1. Position the carrier's forks at the correct width to enter the attachment's fork pockets (198 x 78mm).
  2. Drive the forks fully home into the pockets and insert the heel pins.
  3. Confirm both heel pins are seated before lifting.
  4. Set the boom length: remove the linch pins and quick-release pins, slide the boom to the required position, then re-insert the pins.
  5. For the adjustable variant: set the boom angle using the angle adjustment pins.
  6. Attach the load to the swivel hook and confirm the hook latch is engaged.
  7. Lift smoothly. Travel low and tilted slightly back; place gently at the destination.
  8. To stow, lower fully and deploy the storage leg before removing the attachment from the forks.

Warning: Do not exceed the WLL of the model in use. Always re-confirm both linch pins and quick-release pins are seated after any length or angle change. Confirm the hook latch is engaged on every lift.

Safety Information

  • Confirm both heel pins are inserted before every lift.
  • Confirm both length and angle adjustment pins are seated before lifting.
  • Do not exceed the WLL — the rated capacity reduces as the boom extends, see the user guide for the lift chart.
  • Confirm the swivel hook's self-locking latch is engaged on every load.
  • Do not use for personnel lifting under any circumstances.
  • Six-monthly LOLER thorough examination by a competent person required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What's this jib best used for?

It's used to allow forklifts or telehandlers to lift long or awkward loads that usually require a crane — heavy equipment, roof trusses, overhead steel placement. Saves the cost of crane hire and the operator day rate when a forklift or telehandler is already on site.

Q: How do I adjust the length of the arm?

Remove the linch pins and quick-release pins, slide the boom to the required length, then re-insert the pins. The adjustable variant also allows angle changes using the angle adjustment pins for greater reach height.

Q: How do I store the arm when not in use?

There's an adjustable leg built into the unit that stabilises it upright for storage. Deploy the leg before removing the attachment from the forks.
