Conquip Portable Toilet Lifting Frame

Steel lifting frame for safe crane movement of portable toilets around site. Removable stabilising bar, crane lifting points, fork pockets, cut-out frame design for tap access. Popular for excavation projects where ground-level access is restricted. Also known as a Portaloo Lifter. WLL 1000kg. Purchase only.

The Conquip Portable Toilet Lifting Frame, also known as a Portaloo Lifter, is a robust steel lifting frame designed to enable the safe movement of portable toilets around site. It is particularly popular for excavation projects where access to ground level is restricted, allowing toilets to be lifted to operative working areas (such as deep excavations, basements, or upper floors of in-progress structures) so that operatives do not have to lose productive time travelling back to main site facilities. The frame features a removable stabilising bar that can be attached to the side of the frame during loading and unloading. This is a key safety feature -- it eliminates the risk of the bar causing injury during the awkward operation of lifting a portable toilet into and out of the frame. Once the toilet is in place, the bar is fitted across the top of the frame to secure the load during the lift. The cut-out frame design provides easy access to taps on the side of the toilet, so operatives can use the unit without difficulty when it is positioned at the working area. Crane lifting points and fork pockets at the base allow flexible manoeuvring -- crane lift to position the unit at depth or height, forklift handling for short-distance moves around the laydown area.

CE-marked | LOLER 1998 compliant

Manufactured in the UK from quality steel for durability and reduced repair or replacement costs. Best-practice solution for portable toilet handling on excavation, infrastructure, and high-rise projects. WLL 1000kg. Purchase only.

Key Features

  • Removable stabilising bar allows for safe, easy placement of the portable toilet into the frame
  • Stabilising bar can be stowed on the side of the frame during loading and unloading -- no risk of the bar causing injury during the manual handling phase
  • Complete with integrated crane lifting points for vertical lifts
  • Fork pockets at the base for easy forklift manoeuvring around site
  • Cut-out frame design enables easy access to taps on the side of the toilet
  • 1000kg Working Load Limit covers standard portable toilet weight (typically 80-100kg empty, up to 250kg with full waste tank) with margin
  • Manufactured from quality steel for increased durability and reduced repair or replacement costs
  • Greatly improves productivity on large projects -- operatives no longer need to be transported to main site facilities

Suitable Applications

The Portable Toilet Lifting Frame is essential for any project where operatives are working at depth, height, or distance from the main site facilities. Common applications include deep excavation projects (basement and infrastructure work), high-rise construction (lifting toilets to active working floors), and large-footprint projects where travel to a centralised welfare area would consume significant productive time. Without this frame, the alternative is either expensive duplicate welfare provision at the working area or significant lost productive time as operatives travel to and from facilities. Also called a Portaloo Lifter or portable toilet crane lift frame.

How to Use

  1. Carry out a pre-use inspection: frame structure, removable stabilising bar (and its mounting points), crane lifting points, fork pockets, structural welds
  2. Confirm the frame's WLL of 1000kg is rated for the loaded portable toilet weight (including waste tank contents)
  3. Position the frame on a level, firm surface in the loading area
  4. Remove the stabilising bar and stow it on the side of the frame
  5. Carefully manoeuvre the portable toilet into the frame, ensuring it is fully seated and centred
  6. Refit the stabilising bar across the top of the frame, securing the toilet in place
  7. For crane lift: connect a four-leg chain sling to the integrated crane lifting points, then attach to the crane hook
  8. For forklift movement: insert forks fully into the fork pockets at the base
  9. Take the strain slowly and verify the lift or move is balanced before proceeding
  10. Position the frame at the destination, lower onto a level surface, and verify stability
  11. Once positioned, the toilet may remain in the frame for use -- the cut-out design provides access to taps
  12. To remove the toilet: reverse the loading procedure, removing the stabilising bar before disturbing the toilet

Warning: Working Load Limit of 1000kg must not be exceeded. The stabilising bar must be securely fitted across the top of the frame before any lift -- never lift with the bar removed or only partially fitted. Verify the toilet is centred and seated correctly in the frame before lifting. Inspect before every use under LOLER 1998.

Safety Information

  • Working Load Limit of 1000kg must not be exceeded under any circumstance
  • Verify portable toilet weight before every lift -- a full waste tank can substantially increase total weight
  • The stabilising bar must be securely fitted across the top of the frame before any lift commences
  • The toilet must be centred and fully seated in the frame -- a misaligned toilet can shift during the lift
  • Pre-use inspection required before every lift; thorough examination every six months under LOLER 1998
  • Frames with damaged welds, deformed lifting points, missing or damaged stabilising bar, or compromised fork pockets must be removed from service immediately
  • Lifting must be carried out by a competent crane operator with a trained banksman or signaller
  • Ground personnel must remain clear of the lifting and travel zone during crane moves
  • Do not stand directly beneath a loaded frame during lifting or placement
  • The frame is rated for portable toilet handling only -- do not use to lift other items
  • Toilet servicing and emptying should be carried out at ground level where practical -- avoid emptying via the frame at depth or height

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is the stabilising bar removable?

The removable stabilising bar can be stowed on the side of the frame during loading and unloading, eliminating the risk of the bar causing injury during the manual handling phase. Once the toilet is in place, the bar is fitted across the top of the frame to secure the load during the lift.

Q: Can it be moved by forklift as well as crane?

Yes. The frame includes integrated crane lifting points for vertical lifts and fork pockets at the base for forklift handling around the laydown area.

Q: Can operatives use the toilet while it's still in the frame?

Yes. The cut-out frame design provides easy access to the taps on the side of the toilet, so the unit can be used without difficulty when positioned at the working area.

Q: Is it available for hire?

This product is supplied on a purchase-only basis.
