Eichinger Forklift Concrete Skip

Model 2016 | 500L, 800L & 1,200L Capacities | Lever-Operated Discharge Gate | Fork Mounted | CE Marked | UKCA Compliant

The Eichinger Forklift Concrete Skip (Model 2016) is a low-profile, fork-mounted concrete pouring skip designed for sites where crane access is not available and concrete must be transported and placed by forklift truck or telehandler. The skip features a low, square shape with a lateral outlet and lever-operated discharge gate for controlled concrete flow. Stacker shoes allow easy pick-up by fork prongs. Available in three capacities — 500 litres (2016.5), 800 litres (2016.8) and 1,200 litres (2016.12) — the 2016 range meets the needs of everything from small domestic pours to larger commercial groundworks. A tremie hose adapter can be supplied to aid accurate placement of concrete. Built in Germany by Florian Eichinger GmbH.

CE Marked, UKCA Compliant & BG Safety Approved

This product carries CE marking in accordance with EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, and a UKCA certificate is also provided where required for the UK market. The skip is designed and manufactured to the occupational health and safety standards of the German Berufsgenossenschaften (BG). Manufactured under DIN ISO 9001:2015 quality management. An EC Declaration of Conformity is supplied with every unit as standard.

  • Lever-operated discharge gate — controlled lateral outlet for precise concrete placement, operated by the forklift driver
  • Low, square profile — compact shape for easy filling and stable transport on the forks
  • Three capacity options — 500L, 800L and 1,200L to suit small domestic pours through to larger commercial groundworks
  • Tremie hose adapter available — optional accessory to aid accurate placement of concrete into formwork and tight areas
  • Budget-friendly concrete delivery — provides an economical solution for pouring concrete on sites without crane access

Suitable Applications

The 2016 Forklift Concrete Skip is designed for any construction site where concrete needs to be transported and poured by forklift truck or telehandler rather than by crane. It is ideal for ground floor slabs, footings, foundations, drainage runs and any application where a forklift can reach the pour location. The lever-operated gate allows the operator to control the flow of concrete for accurate placement. The optional tremie hose adapter extends the reach of the pour for column work and deeper formwork applications. The 2016 is widely used by groundwork contractors, housebuilders and hire companies looking for an economical fork-mounted concrete pouring solution.

How to Use the Forklift Concrete Skip

  1. Position the skip on a flat, level surface and ensure the discharge gate is fully closed.
  2. Fill the skip with wet concrete, ensuring an even distribution and not exceeding the rated capacity.
  3. Insert the forklift forks fully into the stacker shoes, ensuring the skip is centred and balanced.
  4. Transport the skip to the pour location, driving slowly and avoiding sudden movements to prevent concrete slosh.
  5. Position the skip over the pour area, aligning the lateral outlet with the target zone.
  6. Operate the lever to open the discharge gate, controlling the flow rate for accurate placement.
  7. Close the discharge gate when the pour is complete.
  8. Clean the skip thoroughly after each use, paying particular attention to the discharge gate mechanism.

Certification and Compliance

This product is CE marked and supplied with a full EC Declaration of Conformity in accordance with the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. A UKCA certificate is also provided where required for the Great Britain market. The skip is manufactured under a DIN ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system. All equipment used on UK construction sites must comply with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).

Safety Information

  • Never exceed the rated capacity of the skip.
  • Ensure the discharge gate is fully closed before filling and transporting.
  • Drive slowly with the loaded skip and avoid sudden turns or braking.
  • Ensure the pour area is clear of personnel before opening the discharge gate.
  • Do not use the skip for crane lifting — it is designed for fork-mounted use only.
  • A risk assessment must be carried out prior to moving or using this equipment.
  • Operation only by persons who are familiar with the equipment and have read the operating instructions.
  • Required PPE: hard hat, safety boots, gloves, and hi-vis vest.
  • The type plate must remain present and legible at all times.

Inspection and Maintenance

The forklift concrete skip must be inspected before each use. Check the discharge gate mechanism, lever, stacker shoes and welded seams for signs of wear or damage. Clean the skip thoroughly after every use — wet concrete left to set inside the skip or around the gate mechanism will cause damage and impair operation. Store the skip with the gate closed. Regular cleaning and maintenance will extend the working life of the unit significantly.
