Pfaff-Silberblau HU 15-115 FTP Low-Profile Hand Pallet Truck

PROLINE | 1,500 kg Capacity | 51 mm Pallet Entry Height | CE Marked

The Pfaff-Silberblau HU 15-115 FTP is the specialist PROLINE pallet truck for pallets and containers with restricted underclearance, engineered and manufactured in Germany. Its 51 mm pallet entry height โ€” substantially lower than the 85 mm of a standard truck โ€” lets the forks enter pallet bases conventional trucks cannot clear. The flat-fork profile and reduced roller dimensions suit damaged pallets with thickened bottom boards, custom industrial pallets without Euro-standard underclearance, certain export crates and the steel pallets used in heavy-machinery distribution.

Key Features

  • 51 mm pallet entry height โ€” substantially lower than the 85 mm standard. The flat-fork profile and reduced-diameter load rollers allow the truck to enter pallets that a standard truck physically cannot clear โ€” damaged pallets with thickened bottom boards, custom industrial pallets, heavy-machinery transport pallets, and certain export crates.
  • 1,500 kg capacity โ€” the trade-off for the low-profile design. The reduced roller diameter limits the load that can be supported without excess roller stress, so the FTP is rated lower than the 2,500 kg SILVERLINE. For most low-profile applications this is still ample.
  • PROLINE-grade chassis โ€” hardened axles, hard-chromed piston, powder-coated steel frame. Built to the same heavier specification as the rest of the PROLINE range despite the low-profile fork design.
  • PUR/PA roller combination โ€” polyurethane and polyamide for the load rollers (50 ร— 70 mm reduced diameter) and polyamide for the steering. The polyamide steering rollers are harder than rubber and roll smoothly over the marginal underclearance of difficult pallets.
  • Ergonomic safety handle โ€” rubber grip with single-handed control of lift, drive, and lower. 105ยฐ steering each side.
  • Robust steel construction โ€” same powder-coated frame and adjustable connecting rods as the standard-profile PROLINE, just with the modified fork section.

More About This Product

The Pfaff-Silberblau HU 15-115 FTP is the specialist tool for handling pallets and containers with restricted underclearance. Engineered and manufactured in Germany, this PROLINE-series pallet truck has a 51 mm pallet entry height โ€” substantially lower than the 85 mm of a standard truck โ€” allowing the forks to enter pallet bases that conventional trucks cannot clear. The flat-fork profile and reduced roller dimensions make it the right tool for damaged pallets with thickened bottom boards, custom industrial pallets specified without a Euro-standard underclearance, certain export crates, and the awkward steel pallets used in heavy-machinery distribution.

Where Is the FTP Used?

The FTP is a problem-solver truck rather than an everyday workhorse. Most operations have a standard SILVERLINE for routine work and add an FTP when they hit pallets the standard truck can't handle. Heavy-machinery distribution centres specify FTPs because the steel pallets used for shipping motors, gearboxes, and industrial machinery are typically lower-profile than wood pallets. Pharmaceutical and food companies use them for cleanroom pallets where the underclearance is reduced to maintain easy floor-cleaning regimes.

Operations that handle a high proportion of damaged pallets โ€” recycled-pallet yards, returns processing centres, hire-fleet returns โ€” benefit from having an FTP on standby for the pallets that don't quite meet EN 13698 underclearance. The 51 mm entry height covers a significant percentage of marginal pallets that standard trucks reject.

Recommended Pre-Use Checks

  1. Visually inspect the forks for damage. The flat-fork profile is more vulnerable to bending damage than the standard reinforced section โ€” check carefully.
  2. Check the reduced-diameter load rollers (50 ร— 70 mm) for free rotation. These rollers run closer to embedded floor debris than standard rollers and need more frequent debris removal.
  3. Check the steering rollers and confirm 105ยฐ steering travel.
  4. Test the lift and lower functions through full travel before placing a load on the forks.
  5. Confirm the hydraulic system holds pressure unladen for 30 seconds.
  6. Inspect the chassis for hydraulic oil leaks.
  7. Verify the data plate is legible.

Safety Information

  • Do not exceed the 1,500 kg safe working load. The reduced-diameter rollers cannot safely support the 2,500 kg of a standard SILVERLINE.
  • Do not use to lift personnel.
  • The low-profile rollers are more sensitive to floor debris than standard rollers โ€” keep working floors clean.
  • Distribute the load evenly across both forks.
  • Move at walking speed only. Pedestrian operation.
  • Standard delivery is without parking brake.
  • Rated for ambient temperature -10ยฐC to +50ยฐC.
  • Inspect annually under PUWER 1998 and BGV D27.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does this work with standard UK and Euro pallets?

Yes โ€” standard EN 13698 pallets have a minimum 100 mm underclearance which gives plenty of room for the FTP's 51 mm fork height. The FTP is the right truck if you handle a mix of standard and damaged or low-clearance pallets and want a single truck that handles both.

Q: Why is the capacity only 1,500 kg?

The reduced-diameter load rollers (50 ร— 70 mm versus the standard 80 ร— 70 mm) limit the safe load they can support without rolling stress. 1,500 kg is the SWL set to maintain the same safety factor as the larger-roller models. If you need higher capacity, a standard-profile truck is the right choice.

Q: When should I specify the FTP rather than a standard truck?

Whenever you regularly handle pallets that a standard truck fails to enter cleanly. Symptoms include the operator having to lift one end of the pallet manually before the truck will engage, repeated damage to the bottom boards of returning pallets, or the truck refusing to roll under certain steel or composite pallets entirely. If you have a single truck for everything and routinely hit problem pallets, the FTP is the upgrade.

Q: Are the load rollers more vulnerable to wear?

The reduced-diameter rollers see more rotations per metre travelled than the standard 80 mm rollers, so they wear faster under the same usage. Spare rollers are readily available and the replacement procedure is the same as on standard models. Plan for slightly more frequent roller service if the truck is used continuously.

Q: Will it run on rough yard surfaces?

Less well than a standard truck โ€” the lower fork height means the forks ground out earlier on uneven surfaces, and the smaller rollers transmit shock more directly. Best used on hard, flat indoor and yard surfaces. For rough yards, the standard SILVERLINE BTS or a powered truck is more appropriate.

Q: What about annual inspection?

Standard PUWER 1998 applies. Annual examination by a competent person, records kept. The reduced-diameter rollers should be inspected for wear at every examination.
