Pfaff-Silberblau HU 25-115 FBTP Hand Pallet Truck with Driving & Parking Brake

PROLINE | 2,500 kg Capacity | Integrated Handle Brake | CE Marked

The Pfaff-Silberblau HU 25-115 FBTP is a heavy-duty PROLINE hand pallet truck, engineered and manufactured in Germany for sites where loads move across ramps, ascending slopes or onto lorry beds. Its defining feature is an integrated driving and parking brake on the steering handle, letting the operator slow a moving load on a gradient and securely park the truck without manually wedging the wheels. The 2,500 kg capacity, hardened axles, hard-chromed hydraulic piston and powder-coated steel frame suit hire fleets and construction logistics teams needing safer handling on uneven ground.

Key Features

  • Driving and parking brake on the handle โ€” lets the operator slow a 2.5-tonne load on a gradient and lock the truck when stationary. The standard SILVERLINE and PROLINE trucks only have an optional park brake; the FBTP is the only model where the brake is integrated, fitted from factory, and designed for active use during transit.
  • 2,500 kg capacity โ€” handles UK and Euro pallets at their working load limit.
  • Ergonomic single-handed control โ€” lift, drive, lower, and brake all operated from the safety handle.
  • Hard-chromed hydraulic piston โ€” resists corrosion and seal wear far longer than standard chrome plating.
  • Robust steel construction โ€” adjustable connecting rods, hardened axles, powder-coated finish.
  • 105ยฐ steering angle each side โ€” tight turning circle for confined warehouse aisles and curtain-sider lorry beds.
  • VG/PUR roller combination โ€” solid rubber steering wheels for shock absorption; polyurethane load rollers for low noise and no marking.

More About This Product

Engineered and manufactured in Germany by Pfaff-Silberblau (Columbus McKinnon Group), the HU 25-115 FBTP is a heavy-duty PROLINE-series hand pallet truck designed specifically for sites where loads need to be moved across ramps, ascending slopes, or onto lorry beds. The defining feature is an integrated driving and parking brake fitted to the steering handle, allowing the operator to slow a moving load on a gradient and securely park the truck without manually wedging the wheels. With a 2,500 kg capacity, hardened axles, hard-chromed hydraulic piston, and powder-coated steel frame, this is the truck specified by hire fleets and construction logistics teams who need a tougher-than-standard pallet truck that holds up to daily abuse and offers safer handling on uneven ground.

Where Is the FBTP Used?

The FBTP is the truck of choice on sites where a pallet truck needs to operate beyond a flat warehouse floor. Lorry loading bays with sloped approach ramps, construction sites with temporary plywood ramps over kerbs, hire centres where the same truck moves between multiple yard surfaces, and distribution facilities where loads are walked down inclined service roads โ€” all of these are situations where the standard parking-brake-only models present a real handling risk. The FBTP's integrated driving brake gives the operator continuous control of a heavy load throughout a downhill movement rather than relying solely on body weight to resist runaway.

It is also the recommended truck for any operation moving loads onto truck tail-lifts. Once the tail-lift is at full extension, even a small floor tilt becomes a manual-handling risk with a non-braked pallet truck. The FBTP's park brake locks the truck on the tail-lift surface during the lift cycle, eliminating that movement.

Recommended Pre-Use Checks

  1. Visually inspect the forks, frame, and connecting rods for damage, cracks, or deformation.
  2. Check the steering and load rollers for free rotation, wear, and embedded debris.
  3. Test the lift, lower, and brake functions through full travel before placing a load on the forks.
  4. Confirm the hydraulic system holds pressure for 30 seconds unladen.
  5. Inspect the chassis for hydraulic oil leaks.
  6. Verify the brake cable is intact and the brake engages and releases positively.
  7. Verify the data plate is legible.

Safety Information

  • Do not exceed the 2,500 kg safe working load.
  • Do not use to lift personnel.
  • Distribute the load evenly across both forks.
  • Move at walking speed only. Pedestrian operation.
  • Use the parking brake whenever the truck is left unattended, regardless of gradient.
  • Operators should be trained in manual handling and on correct use of the driving brake on gradients.
  • Rated for ambient temperature -10ยฐC to +50ยฐC.
  • Inspect annually under PUWER 1998 and BGV D27.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between FBTP and the standard TS / BTS / ES models?

The standard SILVERLINE TS, BTS, and ES models have a parking brake available only as an optional extra. The FBTP designation means the unit is factory-fitted with both a driving brake (operated during movement to slow loads on gradients) and a parking brake (engaged when stationary). The brake is integrated into the safety handle and operates without removing the operator's hand from the controls. Choose the FBTP if any part of the working route involves a ramp, slope, or tail-lift.

Q: Can this truck be used on a tail-lift?

Yes โ€” well-suited to tail-lift loading because the parking brake can be engaged during the lift cycle to prevent the truck rolling on the platform. Always engage the brake before the tail-lift begins to move.

Q: Is the brake mechanical or hydraulic?

Mechanical. The brake acts on the steering rollers via a cable system operated by a lever on the handle. There are no hydraulic lines associated with the brake.

Q: What pallet sizes does it fit?

The 540 mm outside fork width and 1,150 mm fork length suit standard UK pallets (1,000 ร— 1,200 mm) and Euro pallets (800 ร— 1,200 mm) entered from either side. The 85 mm lowered fork height is compatible with all pallets meeting EN 13698.

Q: Does it require annual inspection?

Yes โ€” PUWER 1998 applies. Competent person examination at least every twelve months.

Q: What hydraulic oil does it use?

HLP-DIN 51524 T2 ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil. First oil change after 20 operating hours; thereafter annually.

Q: Is there a stainless steel or ATEX version?

A stainless ATEX-rated version is available as the HU 20-115 VATP PROLINE (2,000 kg, ATEX Zone 1 and 2). The VATP does not have the integrated driving brake of the FBTP. For both ATEX and driving brake together, contact us for a special-build option.
