Lifting-gear specialists in Sheffield & London — phone & email

The P Series is Pramac's professional inverter range. Inverter technology conditions the output electronically rather than relying on engine speed, which gives clean, stable power safe for laptops, test equipment, control gear and anything with sensitive electronics inside it. Economy mode drops the engine to the speed the load actually needs, cutting both fuel use and noise. All models except the P2000i carry PowerRush, which gives extra starting capacity for motor loads that would otherwise stall a set of this rating.

Emissions Compliance

Stage V certified. Every model in this range meets the Stage V non-road mobile machinery emissions standard, which is a condition of entry on many local authority, London and principal contractor sites.

Sockets vary by model: 2x230V 13A with USB on the smaller units, and 1x230V 32A plus 2x230V 13A on the P7500i. A parallel kit is available to run two units together.

Key Features

  • Inverter output — electronically conditioned power with low harmonic distortion, safe for laptops, instruments and control electronics that a conventional alternator can damage.
  • PowerRush on all but the P2000i — extra starting capacity for motor loads — compressors, pumps and power tools — that would otherwise exceed the rating on start-up.
  • 61 dB(A) at seven metres — the P3000i and P3500I are the quietest sets in the Pramac petrol range, which is what makes them viable near people.
  • Economy mode — engine speed tracks the load rather than running flat out, cutting fuel consumption and noise on part load.
  • USB and 12V DC outlets — charge phones, radios and site equipment directly without an adaptor.
  • Parallel capability — two units can be linked with the parallel kit to double available output rather than buying one larger set.

Suitable Applications

The P Series suits any application where power quality or noise matters: broadcast and film location work, events and exhibitions, market trading, mobile catering, telecoms and instrumentation, camping and caravan use, and site work near occupied buildings. The P2000i at 21kg is genuinely portable by one hand. The P7500i at 146kg is a different machine — a wheeled set giving 6.5kW of clean power for larger installations. Where output quality does not matter and cost does, the E and ES Series give more watts per pound.

How to Use

  1. Site the generator on firm level ground in the open air with clearance for cooling airflow and exhaust.
  2. Check engine oil and fuel levels before starting.
  3. Confirm the total connected load is within the rating, allowing headroom for motor starting currents.
  4. Start the engine and let it stabilise before applying load.
  5. Connect loads at the socket panel using correctly rated leads.
  6. Shed the load before shutting down, then stop the engine and let it cool before refuelling.

Warning: Never operate a generator indoors, in a partially enclosed space, or anywhere exhaust can reach an occupied area. Exhaust contains carbon monoxide, which is colourless, odourless and fatal.

Safety Information

  • Operate only in the open air, well clear of doors, windows and air intakes.
  • Never refuel a hot or running engine.
  • Do not connect to a building's fixed wiring without a correctly specified changeover arrangement.
  • Use only leads and connectors rated for the outlet, inspected before each use.
  • Keep fuel and flammables away from the exhaust and hot surfaces.
  • Earth the set in accordance with the site electrical arrangement.

Inspection and Maintenance

Check oil, fuel and the air filter daily, and inspect the socket panel, leads and residual current protection before each use. Service intervals follow the engine manufacturer's schedule by running hours. Generators used as work equipment fall under PUWER, and the outlets and any supplied leads fall within the site inspection and test regime.

What's Included

  • P Series inverter generator in the model ordered
  • Operator manual
  • Parallel kit is a separate option where the model supports it

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does inverter technology actually give me?

Output is generated then electronically reconstructed, so voltage and frequency stay stable regardless of engine speed. That makes it safe for laptops, TVs, chargers and instrumentation, which a conventional generator can damage through voltage spikes.

Q: What is PowerRush?

Additional starting capacity for high-demand loads. Motors draw several times their running current on start-up, and PowerRush covers that surge without oversizing the generator. Fitted to every model except the P2000i.

Q: Can I run two together?

Yes, using the P Series parallel kit. That is often cheaper and more flexible than buying one larger set, since you can run just one unit on light loads.

Q: How quiet are they really?

61 dB(A) at seven metres for the P3000i and P3500I. That is conversational speech level at that distance, and far below an open-frame set.
