The WX Series is Pramac's open-frame leisure and DIY range, and the specification is stronger than the positioning suggests. Both models carry AVR as standard, both have large tanks — 17 litres on the WX 3200 and 26 on the WX 6200 — and the WX 3200 runs 16.3 hours at half load. A digital multimeter tracks engine runtime so service intervals are based on hours rather than guesswork, and handles and a wheel kit are integrated rather than optional.

Emissions Compliance

Stage V certified. Every model in this range meets the Stage V non-road mobile machinery emissions standard, which is a condition of entry on many local authority, London and principal contractor sites.

WX 3200 sockets: 1x110V 32A and 1x230V 16A. WX 6200: 1x230V 32A and 1x230V 13A. Guaranteed noise level 93 dB(A) on the WX 3200.

Key Features

  • AVR as standard on both — automatic voltage regulation holds output steady under changing load, which is unusual at this price point.
  • 16.3 hours on the WX 3200 — from a 17 litre tank at half load — longer than most professional sets in the same output class.
  • Digital multimeter with hour counter — tracks engine runtime so servicing follows actual hours rather than estimates.
  • 110V outlet on the WX 3200 — 1x110V 32A alongside the 230V socket, so it will run site tools as well as domestic equipment.
  • Electric start on the WX 6200 — at 89kg, electric start is the sensible specification and it is standard.
  • Integrated handles and wheels — designed to be moved by one person without buying a trolley kit.

Suitable Applications

The WX range suits allotments and outbuildings, home standby during power cuts, market stalls and events, agricultural and equestrian use, and light trade work. The 110V outlet on the WX 3200 makes it viable for occasional site work with 110V tools, though for regular construction use the E or ES Series are built for the duty. The WX 6200 at 5.3kW will run a small workshop, a caravan or several tools at once.

How to Use

  1. Site the generator on firm level ground in the open air with clearance for cooling airflow and exhaust.
  2. Check engine oil and fuel levels before starting.
  3. Confirm the total connected load is within the rating, allowing headroom for motor starting currents.
  4. Start the engine and let it stabilise before applying load.
  5. Connect loads at the socket panel using correctly rated leads.
  6. Shed the load before shutting down, then stop the engine and let it cool before refuelling.

Warning: Never operate a generator indoors, in a partially enclosed space, or anywhere exhaust can reach an occupied area. Exhaust contains carbon monoxide, which is colourless, odourless and fatal.

Safety Information

  • Operate only in the open air, well clear of doors, windows and air intakes.
  • Never refuel a hot or running engine.
  • Do not connect to a building's fixed wiring without a correctly specified changeover arrangement.
  • Use only leads and connectors rated for the outlet, inspected before each use.
  • Keep fuel and flammables away from the exhaust and hot surfaces.
  • Earth the set in accordance with the site electrical arrangement.

Inspection and Maintenance

Check oil, fuel and the air filter daily, and inspect the socket panel, leads and residual current protection before each use. Service intervals follow the engine manufacturer's schedule by running hours. Generators used as work equipment fall under PUWER, and the outlets and any supplied leads fall within the site inspection and test regime.

What's Included

  • WX Series generator with AVR and digital multimeter
  • Integrated handles and wheel kit
  • Operator manual

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the WX suitable for construction sites?

It will run 110V tools from the WX 3200, but it is designed as a leisure and DIY range. For daily site work the E, ES and S Series are built for the duty cycle and are the ranges hire companies specify.

Q: How long does it run?

16.3 hours at 50% load on the WX 3200 and 12 hours on the WX 6200. Both figures are at half load; heavier loading reduces them.

Q: What does the AVR do?

It holds the output voltage steady as load changes, which protects equipment and gives more consistent tool performance. Not every generator at this price includes it.

Q: WX or PMi?

WX is open-frame with a bigger tank and more power for the money. PMi is inverter, quieter and safe for sensitive electronics. Choose PMi if you are running laptops or televisions; choose WX for tools and appliances.
