The PY20 is the entry point to the Lifter weighing range: a 2000kg hand pallet truck with an integrated weighing system, finished in grey. It does the job most sites actually need, which is knowing what a pallet weighs at the moment it is moved, without walking it to a floor scale and without paying for a printer or the higher 2500kg frame. For goods-in checking, despatch weight estimates and stock control it is the sensible specification.
Manufacturer Assurance
Lifter by Pramac is backed by over 40 years of material handling equipment manufacture. All Lifter by Pramac products are designed to meet 100% compliance with current standard regulations, and are subject to internal quality testing for reliability and durability.

Supplied in grey. Capacity is 2000kg; for 2500kg see the PX25.
Key Features
- Integrated weighing — read the weight where the pallet stands, removing a movement per pallet on a busy bay.
- 2000kg capacity — covers the great majority of palletised loads in distribution and retail supply.
- Standard 1150mm forks — handles UK and Euro pallets without a special order.
- Grey finish — distinguishes the weighing truck from the standard fleet at a glance, which helps stop it being used as a general runabout.
- Lower cost than the printer model — where you need the number rather than a printed record, this is the value choice.
Suitable Applications
The PY20 suits goods-in checking against supplier delivery notes, despatch weights for courier and pallet-network bookings, stock and production control, and waste weighing where a printed ticket is not required. It is the truck to buy where weighing is a regular but not constant task. If loads routinely exceed 2000kg, specify the PX25; if weights must be evidenced on paper, specify the GS EVO weigh scale with printer.
How to Use
- Check the load is within the rated capacity and the pallet is sound.
- Set the tiller control to lower and bring the forks fully down.
- Enter the pallet squarely and drive the forks fully home.
- Select lift and raise the load clear of the floor.
- Move with the control in neutral, pulling rather than pushing where the route allows.
- Lower, release the load and withdraw the forks squarely.
Warning: Capacity is 2000kg. Weigh on level ground with the load stable, and do not use the scale as a substitute for a verified trade scale where the weight determines payment.
Safety Information
- Only trained operators should use a pallet truck.
- Keep feet clear of the load wheels and the underside of the forks.
- Never ride on the truck or carry passengers.
- Do not lift loads that are unstable, overhanging or unevenly distributed.
- Withdraw from service if the forks creep down under load or the hydraulic unit leaks.
- Store with the forks fully lowered.
Inspection and Maintenance
Normal pallet truck checks apply, plus protection of the display and load cells from impact and water ingress. Have the scale calibrated at the interval your quality system sets, and record it. Under PUWER keep the inspection record and withdraw the truck if it fails a check.
What's Included
- PY20 weigh scale hand pallet truck in grey

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How accurate are the scales?
Accuracy class and calibration status vary by model and by whether the unit is bought trade-approved. Confirm the class you need before ordering: weighing for internal control is a different requirement from weighing for sale by weight.
Q: Do I need a trade-approved scale?
If the weight determines what a customer pays, yes, and it must be verified. For internal stock control, goods-in checking or freight pre-check, a non-approved scale is normally sufficient.
Q: Can the scale be recalibrated on site?
Calibration is carried out by a competent scale engineer. Build it into your planned maintenance rather than treating it as a repair.
Q: PY20 or PX25?
PY20 is 2000kg on 1150 x 540mm forks; PX25 is 2500kg on 1185 x 555mm forks. Choose on load weight and pallet size. Neither prints.
