The Raptor Roller Crowbar is a long steel lever with two rollers at the toe, used to raise the edge of a load so skates or packing can be slid underneath. Both models are 2000mm long, with capacities of 1,500 kg (RC15) and 5,000 kg (RC50).
It is often quicker than setting up a jack when the load just needs lifting enough to fit skates, and the rollers also let the load be nudged short distances. RC15 suits cabinets and lighter machines at 13 kg, while RC50 handles heavier plant at 30 kg. For the complete RC15, RC50 specification, download the datasheet from this page.
Key Features
- Strong steel lever — 2000mm bar gives good leverage for raising the edge of a load
- Twin steel rollers — two smooth running rollers let the load be moved short distances
- Skate placement — lifts loads to a maximum skate height of 145mm
- Two capacities — 1,500 kg for lighter work and 5,000 kg for heavier machinery
- Skate partner — the natural companion to fixed, steerable and adjustable skates

Work Equipment | PUWER 1998
Part of the Raptor range, supplied by WOLFF Onsite. If you need a certificate of conformity or test certificate with your order, let us know when you order and we will confirm what can be supplied.
Suitable Applications
Lifting machines, cabinets and safes onto skates, levering heavy crates to fit packing or dollies, adjusting the position of plant by small amounts during installation, and general millwright, removals and facilities work.
How to Use
- Choose the model to suit the weight being raised at the lever point
- Slide the toe of the crowbar under a strong edge of the load
- Press down steadily on the lever to raise the edge
- Slide the skate or packing in while the load is raised
- Lower the lever slowly so the load settles onto the skate
- Use the rollers to ease the load forward short distances where needed
Safety Information
- Do not exceed the rated capacity of the crowbar
- Never put hands or feet under the raised edge of the load
- Keep a firm grip and stance, and be ready for the lever to kick back
- Only lever from a strong, flat point that will not bend or slip
- Pack the load at once rather than holding it up on the bar
- Use a jack instead where the lift needs to be higher or held for longer
Inspection and Maintenance
Check the lever for bends and cracks before use and make sure both rollers turn freely and sit square on their axle. A crowbar used to lift loads should be included in your inspection regime under PUWER 1998, and if it is used as lifting equipment it falls under LOLER 1998 with a thorough examination at least every 12 months. Withdraw any bar that is bent.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a roller crowbar used for?
It raises the edge of a load so skates or packing can be slid underneath, and its rollers allow the load to be moved short distances.
Q: Which model do I need?
RC15 is rated at 1,500 kg and weighs 13 kg. RC50 is rated at 5,000 kg and weighs 30 kg.
Q: How high will it lift the load?
Both models lift to a maximum skate height of 145mm.
Q: How long is the crowbar?
Both models are 2000mm long.
Q: Should I use a crowbar or a toe jack?
A crowbar is quick for raising an edge to fit skates. A toe jack is better for heavier loads or where the load must be held raised or lifted higher.
Q: What are the rollers made of?
The crowbar has two smooth running steel rollers.
