Model YL LHG ATEX | Capacity 500 kg to 2,000 kg | ATEX II 2 GD C IIC T4 | Zone 1 / Zone 21 | Ultra-Low Headroom | Hand-Geared Travel | Spark-Resistant
The Yale YL LHG ATEX combines all four specialist features in a single integrated assembly: the patented 360ยฐ rotating hand chain guide from the Yalelift 360 ATEX; the specially developed LH lateral chain reeving system for ultra-low closed headroom; hand-chain driven geared trolley travel for precise positioning; and full ATEX certification with bronze trolley wheels, copper-coated hooks, MKS micro corrosion protection, and rubber buffers as standard. The hand-geared mechanism holds the trolley position when the chain is released, eliminating creep risk in hazardous environments. The YL LHG ATEX covers capacities 500 kg, 1,000 kg, and 2,000 kg in Size A (60 to 180 mm beam flange) as standard; higher capacities and Size B are available on request.
Yale is a registered trademark of Columbus McKinnon Industrial Products. This product is certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres under EU Directive 2014/34/EU and 99/92/EC, marked ATEX II 2 GD C IIC T4 (suitable for Zone 1 gas and Zone 21 dust atmospheres, gas group IIC, temperature class T4 = 135 ยฐC maximum surface temperature). The hoist is CE marked (EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC), UKCA marked (UK Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008), manufactured to EN 13157 and ASME B30.16, and is supplied with a Declaration of Conformity, ATEX certification, and proof test certificate. LOLER 1998 thorough examinations are required every 12 months by a competent person after initial certification.

Specifications quoted are for MEDIUM design at standard 3 m Height of Lift, Size A beam range. Higher capacities (3,000 kg and above) and Size B (180 to 300 mm beam flange) are available as special order. HIGH design (with stainless steel load chain) is supplied with reduced capacities.
The YL LHG ATEX is the specification of choice where ATEX zones combine with low-headroom requirements and the need for precise positioning. Typical applications: refinery and chemical plant compact areas requiring exact load placement; pharmaceutical clean rooms with low ceilings; offshore module installation under low pipework; pharmaceutical and food production lines under existing gantries; and any sloping or curved beam application in a hazardous area.
Warning: Yale hoists and trolleys are not designed for passenger elevation applications and must not be used for this purpose. Never use the trolley in zones, gas groups, or temperature classes exceeding the ATEX marking.
The YL LHG ATEX requires the same routine maintenance as the YL LHG, plus regular checks on ATEX-specific components. Use only ATEX-compatible lubricants. Damaged ATEX components must be assessed by a competent person. WOLFF Onsite provides full ATEX-compliant inspection, spare parts, and overhaul services.
