LOLER 1998 thorough examinations are required every 12 months by a competent person after initial certification.
More About This Product
The Pfaff-Silberblau ZWW-L is a wall-mounted rack and pinion jack designed for lifting, lowering, pulling, and pushing loads from a permanent mounting position. Light-duty range covers capacities 300 to 1,200 kg with rack lengths 600 to 1,600 mm and lift travels 400 to 1,400 mm. Robust steel construction with precision-machined worm and spur gears. Solid steel rack has additional bore hole for load fastening. Available with folding handle or standard cranks, and ZWW-L jacks can be coupled for synchronised multi-jack lifting systems up to 1,000 kg total. Explosion-proof versions available for 600 and 1,000 kg variants.
Suitable Applications
Universal light-duty wall-mounted jack. Applications: machinery installation and adjustment, fixed-position lifting in maintenance bays, agricultural and forestry workshops, industrial process equipment, building services, fabrication fixtures, ZWW-L coupled levelling systems, sluice gate auxiliary drives.
A rack and pinion jack has no fluid to leak and no seals to fail, which suits infrequent use and cold or dirty conditions; for cylinder-based lifting a matched hydraulic pump is needed.
How to Use the Pfaff-Silberblau ZWW-L Wall-Mounted Rack & Pinion Jack (Light Duty)
- Select model: Match capacity (300/600/1200 kg) and lift travel to your application.
- Mount the jack: Bolt to a rigid wall or structure rated for WLL plus safety factor.
- Connect to load: Use rack bore hole to fasten yoke, eye bolt, or shackle.
- Fit crank: Folding handle or standard crank matched to gearbox. See Pfaff Cranks product.
- Verify free movement: Manually check rack moves through full travel.
- Operate: Steady crank rotation. Hand effort: 10 daN (300 kg), 14 daN (1200 kg), 15 daN (600 kg).
Warning:
Wall mounting structure must be rated for jack WLL plus appropriate safety factor.
Safety Information
- Always inspect the jack before each use (base plate, rack, gear housing, crank).
- Never exceed the Working Load Limit stamped on the jack body.
- Use only the manufacturer-approved crank, never with extension bars or mechanical drives.
- Never use on soft ground, ice, or unstable surfaces.
- Never side-load, angle-load, or use the jack to lift persons.
- For sustained load support, place additional supports beside the jack before any work beneath the load, and see the hydraulic jack range where a powered lift is more practical.
- LOLER 1998 thorough examination required every 12 months where used as lifting equipment.
- Wall mounting must be rated for WLL plus safety factor.
- For pressure operation, special-order, contact us to verify compatibility.
- Multi-jack coupled systems require synchronisation.
Inspection and Maintenance
Lubricate worm and spur gears annually under normal use. Inspect rack, gearbox, mounting plate bolts, and crank at each LOLER examination. Load brake is sealed. WOLFF Onsite provides LOLER inspection.
Optional Accessories

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does ZWW-L [cap]/[lift] mean?
First number is capacity in kg (300/600/1200); second is lift travel in mm (400/600/800/1000/1200/1400).
Q: Pressure operation?
Standard ZWW-L is tensile. Pressure (pushing) operation up to 1,200 kg available on request.
Q: Multi-jack coupling?
Yes, ZWW-L jacks couple via 3/4 inch or 1 inch tubes (DIN 2440) for synchronised multi-jack systems up to 1,000 kg total. Three configurations: in line, at 90°, or across a surface area.
Q: ATEX version?
600 and 1,000 kg ZWW-L variants available in explosion-proof design on request.
Q: Worm Gear Drive S20 compatible?
Yes, S20 (25 mm shaft) is specifically designed for the ZWW-L range, providing 20:1 reduction with self-locking action.
Q: Why does the lift per crank rotation differ between 300/600 kg and 1200 kg models?
The 300 and 600 kg ZWW-L use an 11 mm per rotation gear ratio for fast lifting at lower loads. The 1,200 kg variant uses 3.6 mm per rotation for low-effort lifting at higher loads. Lighter loads lift fast (11 mm, 10 daN); heavier loads lift slowly (3.6 mm, 14 daN). Total system effort per unit lift is similar across the range.
Q: Why is there no Compass datasheet for the ZWW-L?
The ZWW-L range was not bundled with a dedicated datasheet PDF in the Compass dealer portal at the time of capture. The specifications are published in the full Pfaff-Silberblau Hoisting catalogue (Chapter on Rack & Pinion Jacks, pages 126 to 128).
