Lifting-gear specialists in Sheffield & London — phone & email

The CX14 is the workhorse of the Lifter powered pallet truck range: 1400kg on a 720mm chassis, with a 252kg service weight that gives it the stability and durability for continuous warehouse duty. Four builds run from the basic S2 through gel and AC EVO gel to a lithium-ion version, so the same truck covers a single-shift stockroom and a multi-shift distribution operation. The AC EVO models use an AC drive motor, which means no brushes to replace and better control at low speed.

Manufacturer Assurance

Lifter by Pramac is backed by over 40 years of material handling equipment manufacture. All Lifter by Pramac products are designed to meet 100% compliance with current standard regulations, and are subject to internal quality testing for reliability and durability.

CX14 S2 AC EVO Li-ion ED241M0P000 1400 kg 1150 mm 525 mm Lithium-ion, AC drive

Lift height 115mm, lowered height 85mm, overall length 1560mm, overall width 720mm, aisle width 1810mm, turning radius 1345mm, travel 4.4 km/h laden, service weight 252kg. Tiller height 730mm to 1230mm. Other fork sizes available.

Key Features

  • 1400kg on a stable 252kg chassis — the weight is the point — a heavier truck is more stable under load and lasts longer in continuous use.
  • AC drive on the EVO models — no motor brushes to wear or replace, better low-speed control, and higher efficiency from the same battery.
  • Four battery and drive options — standard, gel, AC EVO gel and AC EVO lithium, so the specification matches the shift pattern rather than being fixed.
  • 1810mm aisle width — tight for a 1400kg truck, only 28mm wider than the much narrower CX12.
  • Low tiller position from 730mm — the tiller drops lower than the CX12, which helps when working under low racking or in a vehicle.
  • Lithium option for multi-shift — the Li-ion build opportunity charges in breaks, removing battery changes from a two or three-shift operation.

Suitable Applications

The CX14 suits general warehousing, distribution, manufacturing supply and retail back-of-house — the default choice where a powered truck is needed and aisles are not exceptionally tight. Specify the AC EVO lithium version for multi-shift work, the gel models where charging facilities are limited, and the basic S2 for single-shift duty. Where aisles are the constraint, the CX12 is narrower; where the truck travels with a vehicle, the EY range is half the weight.

How to Use

  1. Check battery charge and confirm the load is within the rated capacity.
  2. Lower the forks fully and enter the pallet squarely, driving the forks home.
  3. Raise just clear of the floor using the tiller controls.
  4. Travel with the tiller in the operating position, keeping the truck in view and pedestrians clear.
  5. Release the butterfly control to brake; the truck stops automatically if the tiller is released.
  6. Lower, release the load and withdraw the forks squarely.
  7. Return the truck to the charge point at the end of the shift.

Warning: Never exceed 1400kg. Confirm which battery type is fitted before charging — gel, lithium and flooded lead-acid need different chargers and different handling.

Safety Information

  • Only trained and authorised operators should use a powered pallet truck.
  • Travel at a pace appropriate to the floor, the load and the people around you.
  • Keep feet clear of the wheels; a powered truck does not stop instantly.
  • Never carry passengers and never ride on a pedestrian truck.
  • Lower the forks fully before leaving the truck and before charging.
  • Charge in a well-ventilated area following the battery manufacturer's instructions.

Inspection and Maintenance

Check battery charge, brake function, wheels and forks before each shift, and confirm the truck stops when the tiller is released. Keep drive and load wheels clear of banding and wrap. Battery care depends on type: lead-acid needs topping up on schedule, gel and lithium do not. Powered trucks fall under PUWER; keep inspection records and withdraw anything that fails a check.

What's Included

  • CX14 electric pallet truck in the build ordered
  • Battery to the type ordered (standard, gel or lithium)
  • Operator manual
  • Confirm charger supply at the point of order, particularly on the lithium build

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does AC EVO give me?

An AC drive motor rather than a brushed DC one. No brushes to replace, better control at low speed, and more work from the same battery charge. It costs more up front and less over the life of the truck.

Q: Which battery should I choose?

Single shift: standard or gel. Multi-shift: lithium, because it can be opportunity charged during breaks without a battery change or a shortened life.

Q: CX14 or EY20L?

The CX14 is 252kg and built for continuous warehouse duty. The EY20L is 119kg and built to travel with a vehicle. Same sort of capacity, completely different jobs.

Q: Is a charger included?

Charging arrangements vary by build. Confirm at the point of order, particularly on the lithium model, which needs a matched charger.
