The Yale UNOplus-A Arctic Edition extends the proven UNOplus-A ratchet lever hoist into extreme low-temperature applications. Standard CMCO ratchet lever hoists are rated down to -20°C per DIN EN 13157; the Arctic Edition is tested, certified and approved for safe operation at temperatures as low as -40°C. Materials and lubricants have been adapted to the extreme cold and verified through complex low-temperature test procedures — including dynamic low-temperature testing to rule out malfunctions and material failure — with a user-suitability certificate supplied.

Key Features

  • Certified for -40°C operation: Materials and lubricants adapted for extreme cold and verified through static and dynamic low-temperature test procedures. User-suitability certificate supplied.
  • Dynamic low-temperature testing: In addition to static tests, dynamic low-temperature tests have been carried out to rule out malfunctions and material failure.
  • Full UNOplus-A feature set: Inherits all features of the standard UNOplus-A — compact stamped steel construction, automatic screw-and-disc load brake, free-chaining device, rubber-grip lever, forged hooks with safety latches.
  • Designed for extended low-temperature service: Extends the user's working envelope beyond what standard hoists certified to DIN EN 13157 can deliver.

CE & UKCA Marked | Tested & Certified to -40°C | EN 12195 Approved

The Arctic Edition extends the operating temperature range beyond the DIN EN 13157 standard limit. The Arctic Edition is verified safe down to -40°C through static and dynamic low-temperature testing — a user-suitability certificate is supplied with each unit. CE marked, UKCA marked, and EN 12195 approved for load attachment for capacities over 750 kg. LOLER 1998 thorough examinations are required every 12 months by a competent person.

Suitable Applications

The UNOplus-A Arctic Edition is engineered for safe operation in conditions where a standard ratchet lever hoist would be out of specification. Typical applications include arctic operations, cold storage and refrigeration plant work, northern construction and pipeline projects, offshore work in cold seas, and winter construction in extreme latitudes.
