The Yale D85 PUL-LIFT is the link-chain version of Yale's heavy-duty ratchet lever hoist family, extending the capacity range up to 10,000 kg through double-fall and triple-fall reeving. Like its roller-chain sibling the C85, it is engineered for the most demanding industrial applications — maintenance, mining, construction, steel fabrication, shipbuilding and utility work. The enclosed housing, hand lever and bottom block are high-tensile white malleable cast iron, with a graphite cast iron load sheave whose precision-machined chain pockets give accurate chain fit and long service life.

Key Features

  • Enclosed cast-iron housing: Housing, housing cover, hand lever and bottom block all manufactured from high-tensile white malleable cast iron for an overall rugged construction.
  • Graphite cast iron load sheave with precision chain pockets: Precision-machined chain pockets give accurate chain fit and exceptional durability of the load chain under cyclic loading.
  • Alloyed steel link chain, zinc-plated: The load chain meets national and international standards and regulations, with zinc plating for corrosion resistance.
  • Five capacities up to 10,000 kg: 750 kg, 1,500 kg and 3,000 kg in single-fall; 6,000 kg in double-fall; 10,000 kg in triple-fall reeving.
  • Wet-painted RAL 1023 finish: Industrial-grade wet paint finish in traffic yellow for high visibility on site and durability.
  • German manufactured to Yale standards: Continuously refined since the original Yale PUL-LIFT design first entered production in Velbert in 1936.

More About This Product

The Yale D85 PUL-LIFT is the link-chain version of Yale's heavy-duty ratchet lever hoist family, extending the capacity range up to 10,000 kg through double-fall and triple-fall reeving. Like its roller-chain sibling the C85, the D85 is engineered for the most demanding industrial applications — maintenance, mining, construction, steel fabrication, shipbuilding and utility work. The enclosed housing, hand lever and bottom block are manufactured from high-tensile white malleable cast iron, while the graphite cast iron load sheave features precision-machined chain pockets for accurate chain fit and long service life.

Suitable Applications

The D85 PUL-LIFT link-chain ratchet lever hoist covers a uniquely wide capacity envelope from 750 kg to 10,000 kg in a single product family. Typical applications include maintenance and repair, shipbuilding and dry dock work, construction and steel erection, mining (standard variant; ATEX versions available separately), structural and plant assembly, heavy load positioning, and tasks where the smoother behaviour of a link chain is preferred over a roller chain. Where operator effort matters more than chain type, the YaleERGO 360 crank action is considerably faster, and the aluminium Yale AL is the lighter option for a service vehicle.

Safety Information

  • Always inspect the hoist before each use (chain, hooks, safety latches, housing, lever).
  • Never exceed the Working Load Limit stamped on the hoist body.
  • Engage hook safety latches on both top and load hooks before lifting.
  • Use only the manufacturer's hand lever — never with extension bars or pipe extensions.
  • Never use the hoist to lift, lower or transport persons.
  • Never side-load or angle-load the hoist; always lift in line with the chain.
  • LOLER 1998 thorough examination required every 12 months by a competent person.
