The Loadex standard euro pallet truck is the everyday workhorse for moving pallets around a warehouse, loading bay or yard. It has a 2,500 kg capacity, enough for the vast majority of palletised loads, and is operated by hand: pump the handle to raise the forks, push or pull to move, and release to lower.
This is the model to choose when you are handling standard pallets on a smooth, level floor and do not need extra length, width, low entry or powered drive. If your pallets have low entry heights, look at the Loadex low profile truck; for non-standard pallets, there are wide, short and long versions. Replacement 180x50 steering wheels and 48x25 guide wheels for the standard euro truck are listed in the Loadex spares range.

Suitable Applications
Warehouses and distribution centres, loading bays and goods-in, builders merchants, manufacturing plants, retail back of house, wholesalers and any site moving palletised goods short distances over smooth floors.
How to Use
- Check the pallet weight is within 2,500 kg and the load is stable
- Lower the forks fully and drive them straight into the pallet until fully inserted
- Pump the handle to lift the pallet just clear of the floor
- Move off steadily, pulling the truck rather than pushing where practical
- Lower the pallet fully at its destination before withdrawing the forks
Safety Information
- Never exceed the 2,500 kg capacity
- Use only on smooth, level floors and avoid slopes where the load could run away
- Keep feet clear of the steering wheels and fork rollers
- Do not ride on the truck or use it to lift people
- Lower the forks fully when parking so they do not become a trip hazard
Inspection and Maintenance
Before each shift check the wheels and rollers for damage or debris, test that the forks lift, hold and lower smoothly, and look for hydraulic oil leaks. Under PUWER 1998 the truck must be maintained in efficient working order, and many operators include pallet trucks in a 12-monthly thorough examination schedule alongside their other lifting equipment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a standard euro pallet truck?
It is the general purpose hand pallet truck set up for typical Euro pallets. It suits most everyday pallet handling where no special length, width or entry height is needed.
Q: What can it carry?
Up to 2,500 kg, which covers most palletised loads.
Q: When would I need a different Loadex model?
Choose the low profile truck for low entry pallets, the wide or short trucks for non-standard pallets and tight spaces, or the long truck for longer loads. For heavy use over distance, look at the electric models.
Q: Are spare wheels available?
Yes. The Loadex spares range includes a 180x50 steering wheel and a 48x25 guide wheel for the standard euro pallet truck.
Q: Does it need charging?
No. It is a manual truck, so lifting is by hand pump and travel is by pushing or pulling.
Q: Can it be used outside?
It is designed for smooth, level surfaces. Rough or broken ground makes it hard to move and can damage the wheels.
