Pfaff-Silberblau HU ES 10B Electric Scissor Lift Pallet Truck

1,000 kg Capacity | Electric Hydraulic Lift to 800 mm | 12V Battery | CE Marked

The Pfaff-Silberblau HU ES 10B is the electric-lift version of the HS 10B scissor truck, using an electric hydraulic pump driven by an onboard 12V/52Ah battery instead of a foot pump. A full-height lift takes seconds rather than the 45 to 60 seconds of manual pumping, turning the scissor truck from an occasional-use tool into a high-cycle production aid. The battery is sized for a full shift and recharges from a standard 220V supply via the included 6A charger, with the 1,000 kg capacity, fork dimensions and chassis matching the manual model.

Key Features

  • Electric scissor lift to approximately 800 mm โ€” raises a full pallet to working height in seconds rather than the 45 to 60 seconds of the manual HS 10B. Turns scissor lifting from an occasional-use action into a production-rate tool.
  • 1,000 kg capacity โ€” matches the manual version. Suitable for stockroom, pick-face, assembly, and inspection work.
  • 12V / 52Ah maintenance-free battery โ€” sized for a full shift of typical use (estimated 100+ full lifts on a full charge under no-load conditions, fewer under load). Maintenance-free design eliminates the topping-up routine of older lead-acid trucks.
  • Onboard 220V / 6A charger โ€” charges from any standard mains socket. Typical full charge from empty takes around 8 hours; daily top-up overnight maintains the truck in ready condition.
  • Same fork dimensions as standard pallet truck โ€” 540 mm outside fork width, 1,170 mm fork length, 85 mm lowered fork height. Compatible with all standard UK and Euro pallets.
  • Manual steering with electric lift only โ€” the truck is pushed and steered manually like a standard pallet truck. Only the lift mechanism is electric. This keeps the truck simple, reliable, and easy to handle in tight spaces.
  • Robust steel construction โ€” 152 kg total weight including the battery. Built for daily commercial use in production environments.

More About This Product

The Pfaff-Silberblau HU ES 10B is the electric-lift version of the HS 10B scissor truck. Where the manual HS 10B uses a foot pump to raise the scissor, the ES 10B uses an electric hydraulic pump driven by an onboard 12V/52Ah battery. The result is a full-height lift in seconds rather than the 45 to 60 seconds of manual pumping โ€” turning the scissor truck from an occasional-use tool into a high-cycle production aid. The battery is sized for a full shift of typical use and recharges from a standard 220V supply via the included 6A charger. 1,000 kg capacity matches the manual model; fork dimensions, scissor mechanism, and chassis are otherwise identical. Engineered and manufactured by Pfaff-Silberblau (Columbus McKinnon Group).

Where Is the ES 10B Used?

The ES 10B is the workhorse scissor truck for production environments and high-cycle pick faces. Where the HS 10B is appropriate for occasional lifting (a few times per shift), the ES 10B comes into its own when lifting happens many times per hour โ€” production lines feeding palletised components into assembly, pick-face operations where multiple pallets are presented per shift, and packing stations where outgoing pallets are loaded to working height for picking and built up on a pallet at floor level.

The electric lift also helps where the operator is physically constrained โ€” older workers or those with back conditions for whom 30 to 40 foot pump strokes per cycle is not sustainable. The ES 10B reduces the physical demand to manual pushing and steering only.

Production lines feeding sub-assemblies into a robotic cell, packing stations producing custom-built pallets for despatch, and quality inspection lines doing 100% incoming-goods checking on palletised parts are all natural applications for the ES 10B.

Recommended Pre-Use Checks

  1. Visually inspect the forks, scissor arms, and frame for damage, cracks, or deformation. Check the scissor pivot points carefully.
  2. Check the load rollers and steering rollers for free rotation.
  3. Test the electric lift unladen โ€” the scissor should rise smoothly to full height in approximately 20 to 30 seconds.
  4. Test the lower function โ€” smooth and controllable from any height.
  5. Check the battery state on the display or indicator โ€” recharge if below 25% before starting the shift.
  6. Confirm the hydraulic system holds pressure at the raised position for 30 seconds.
  7. Inspect for hydraulic oil leaks.
  8. Inspect the charging cable for damage and verify the charger functions correctly.
  9. Verify the data plate is legible.

Safety Information

  • Do not exceed the 1,000 kg safe working load.
  • Do not use to lift personnel.
  • Never place hands or fingers in the scissor mechanism during operation.
  • Never reach under a raised load.
  • Do not move the truck under load with the forks fully raised. Lower the load before travelling any distance.
  • The 12V battery is sealed and maintenance-free but should not be opened, charged with a non-Pfaff charger, or replaced with a non-equivalent battery.
  • Charge in a well-ventilated area away from sources of ignition.
  • Move at walking speed only.
  • Rated for ambient temperature -10ยฐC to +50ยฐC. Battery performance is reduced below 0ยฐC โ€” expect lower number of lifts per charge in cold conditions.
  • Inspect annually under PUWER 1998. Battery condition should be tested at every inspection; replace before performance falls below 80% of new.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many lifts per charge?

In typical mixed use (some empty lifts, some full-load lifts), expect around 80 to 120 full-height lift cycles between charges. The battery is sized to cover a full shift of typical pick-face or assembly use. Continuous high-cycle work at maximum load reduces the count; light occasional use extends it.

Q: How long does charging take?

From fully discharged to full charge, approximately 8 hours on the supplied 6A charger. Most operations charge overnight to be ready for the next shift. Partial top-up charging is fine and does not damage the maintenance-free battery.

Q: What is the battery service life?

A maintenance-free 12V/52Ah battery in pallet-truck duty typically delivers 500 to 1,000 full charge cycles before capacity drops below 80% of new. In practice, that is around 2 to 4 years of typical commercial use. Replacement batteries are stocked and the replacement procedure takes around 20 minutes.

Q: When should I choose the ES over the HS?

Choose ES if the scissor lift will be operated more than 10 times per hour, or if any operator using the truck has back, knee, or hip issues that make sustained foot-pumping uncomfortable. The ES adds 30 kg of weight and around 30% to the purchase price but pays back through productivity and reduced operator fatigue in any high-cycle environment.

Q: Can it be used in ATEX zones?

No โ€” the electric motor and battery are not ATEX-rated and the truck cannot be used in classified explosive atmospheres. For ATEX work involving scissor lifting, contact us for specialist alternatives.

Q: What hydraulic oil does it use?

HLP-DIN 51524 T2 ISO VG 46 โ€” same specification as the manual HS 10B and the rest of the Pfaff range. First oil change after 20 operating hours; thereafter annually.

Q: What are the annual inspection requirements?

PUWER 1998 annual examination by a competent person. The scissor mechanism, battery condition, charger function, and lift cylinder all should be checked at every inspection. Replace the battery before capacity falls below 80% of new to maintain reliable operation.
