Where Is the All-Terrain Pallet Truck Used?

The Eichinger 1106 is ideal for any environment where a standard warehouse pallet truck would struggle. It is commonly used on construction sites, building sites, civil engineering projects, demolition yards, scaffolding depots, plant hire yards, agricultural premises, and industrial storage areas. The large rubber wheels handle uneven surfaces, compacted gravel, grass, muddy ground, and rough concrete with ease, making it the go-to choice for moving palletised loads outdoors or across unpaved site yards.

How to Operate the All-Terrain Pallet Truck

  1. Adjust the steplessly variable fork tines to match the width of your pallet or load.
  2. Slide the fork tines underneath the palletised load.
  3. Pump the handgrips to raise the load to the required transport height (up to 280 mm).
  4. Push or pull the pallet truck by the handgrips to move the load carefully to its destination.
  5. Lower the load gently using the hydraulic release valve.

The pallet truck is delivered fully assembled and is ready to use immediately — no setup or commissioning is required. It is manually operated by a single person and requires no external power source.

Certification and Compliance

This product is CE marked and supplied with a full EC Declaration of Conformity in accordance with the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. It also holds a TÜV certificate with GS (Tested Safety) mark, confirming it has been independently tested and meets European safety requirements. The harmonised standards EN ISO 12100-1 and EN ISO 12100-2 (Safety of Machinery) have been applied during design and manufacture. The national standard DGUV 100-500 (Operation of Work Equipment) has also been applied.

Safety Information

  • Transporting persons on the pallet truck is strictly prohibited — risk of fatal injury.
  • Never exceed the rated load capacity of 1,500 kg as shown on the type plate.
  • Exercise caution with wet, dirty, or icy components and surfaces.
  • Operation only by persons who are familiar with the equipment and have read the operating manual.
  • Warning: crushing hazard from moving parts.
  • The type plate must remain present and legible at all times.
  • If defects are found, the equipment must not be used until they are rectified.

Inspection and Maintenance

The all-terrain pallet truck must be inspected annually by a competent person. All inspections must be documented and any defects rectified immediately. Inspection criteria include general wear, correct function of all moving parts, tyre pressure (3.5 bar), weld seam integrity, and the condition and legibility of the type plate. Repairs may only be carried out by the manufacturer or persons authorised by them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can you use a pallet truck on rough ground?

Yes. The Eichinger All-Terrain Pallet Truck is specifically designed to operate on rough, uneven ground. Unlike standard warehouse pallet trucks, which have small polyurethane wheels suited only to flat, smooth floors, the Eichinger 1106 features large pneumatic rubber wheels that handle gravel, compacted earth, grass, muddy ground, and rough concrete. It is purpose-built for outdoor use on construction sites, building sites, and industrial yards.

Q: What is the load capacity of the Eichinger 1106 all-terrain pallet truck?

The Eichinger 1106.3 all-terrain pallet truck has a maximum load capacity of 1,500 kg. It accommodates standard pallets up to 1,250 × 900 mm and features steplessly adjustable fork spacing from 220 mm to 600 mm, making it suitable for both UK standard pallets and Euro pallets.

Q: Is the Eichinger all-terrain pallet truck CE marked?

Yes. The Eichinger 1106 is CE marked in full compliance with the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. It is also TÜV/GS certified, meaning it has been independently tested by TÜV and carries the GS (Tested Safety) mark. A full EC Declaration of Conformity is supplied with every unit.

Q: What size pallets does the all-terrain pallet truck fit?

The Eichinger 1106 accepts pallets with maximum external dimensions of 1,250 mm long × 900 mm wide. The fork spacing is steplessly adjustable between 220 mm and 600 mm, so it fits both standard UK pallets and Euro pallets as well as smaller non-standard pallets.

Q: Does the all-terrain pallet truck need assembly?

No. The Eichinger 1106 is delivered fully assembled and ready to use straight away. Before first use, a visual inspection should be carried out to confirm the unit has been delivered complete and undamaged. No tools or additional setup are required.

Q: How heavy is the Eichinger all-terrain pallet truck?

The Eichinger 1106.3 weighs 200 kg. This robust self-weight contributes to the stability and durability of the unit when handling heavy palletised loads on uneven ground.

Q: What maintenance does an all-terrain pallet truck need?

The pallet truck must be inspected annually by a competent person. Regular checks should include tyre pressure (3.5 bar), hydraulic function, weld seam condition, and the legibility of the type plate. All inspections must be documented. Repairs should only be carried out by the manufacturer or their authorised representatives.

Q: Who manufactures the all-terrain pallet truck?

The all-terrain pallet truck is manufactured by Florian Eichinger GmbH in Mühlhausen, Bavaria, Germany. Eichinger is a specialist manufacturer of forklift attachments, transport systems, lifting equipment, drum handling equipment, and industrial environmental storage solutions.
