The Multi-Sec MP-25 is a reconfigurable multi-point lifting beam rated to 25 tonnes. Its modular construction allows beams to be bolted together to extend the span, and the same assembly can be rigged as a centre point lift, a spreader beam or a semi-spreader beam without additional equipment. That makes it suited to both compact vertical lifts and complex multi-point lifting where the load geometry or available headroom dictates the rigging arrangement.

Capacity and configuration

Working load limit 25 tonnes
Single beam 3m or 6m at 25T
Two beams (3m + 6m) 9m span, 25T - 16T
Three beams (3m + 6m + 3m) 12m span, 25T - 10T
Sling angle basis 30° sling to vertical

Capacity varies with the combination of top span and bottom span. Full configuration charts are published in the range brochure; send us your top and bottom spans and we will confirm the rated capacity for your lift.

Lifting configurations

The beam can be arranged in three ways without any change of equipment:

  • Centre point lift. A single beam lifted from one central top point, giving a compact solution where headroom is limited. The load is taken on multiple lower points for even support of symmetrical loads.
  • Spreader beam. Angled top slings connect to top lifting points that match the bottom spans at two positions, allowing one set of hardware to achieve multiple lifting spans. Suitable for a standard two point lift.
  • Semi-spreader beam. Top lifting points are offset from the bottom points, allowing low headroom lifting of loads picked at two opposing ends or at multiple points along the beam.

Header slings must not exceed 30° sling to vertical in spreader and semi-spreader configurations.

Handling

Every beam is fitted with standard forklift pockets for safe handling and positioning on site, and multiple lifting point positions are drilled along the length of the beam so the rigging can be matched to the load rather than the other way round.

A lifting beam has a single top attachment and works in bending, which makes it compact in headroom. Where the load is taken through slings at both ends, a spreader beam is lighter for the same capacity; for four-point support see lifting frames.

Approvals and certification

Multi-Sec modular systems are DNV Type Approved to DNV-ST-0378 and designed, manufactured and tested in the United Kingdom in accordance with DNV-ST-0378 (Offshore and Platform Lifting Appliances), BS EN 13155:2003+A2:2009, BS EN 1993-1-1:2005 (Eurocode 3), EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, LOLER 1998 and PUWER 1998. Manufacture is carried out under ISO 9001:2015 with accreditation to BS EN 1090-2 Execution Class 3. Every system is 100% proof tested before despatch and supplied with full certification and traceability.

Typical applications

Compact vertical lifts in low headroom, machinery and plant installation, fabricated steel assemblies, modular units, and complex lifts requiring several support points along a single load.
