The Conquip Block Grab is a mechanical grab designed for lifting blocks, bricks, paving, concrete slabs, and kerb stones with an excavator or crane. Supplied with a Safety Restraint Net as standard, the grab uses an automatic catch mechanism that allows a single operator to stack and unstack secure loads without manual intervention. Top arms and load-levelling arms are engineered to increase durability and ensure a balanced lift every time. Available with either Bar Handles or D-Handles for positioning the unit, and in two internal heights — 800mm and 1000mm — to accommodate varying load profiles. All variants share a 1800kg Working Load Limit and are compatible with the Conquip Block Grab Forklift Adaptor for use on forklifts and telehandlers as an alternative to excavators.

How to Use

1. Inspect the unit before each use, paying attention to the catch mechanism, lifting points, and rubber stoppers
2. Lower the open grab over the block pack ensuring the arms surround the load completely
3. Lift gently to engage the automatic catch mechanism — the grab arms will close around the load
4. Attach the supplied Safety Restraint Net to the dedicated hooks on the top arms before lifting
5. Verify the load is balanced and the net is secure, then complete the lift to the destination
6. Lower the grab to release the catch, then open the arms and remove the unit from the load

Warning: Always use the supplied Safety Restraint Net for loose or unbanded items. Never exceed the 1800kg Working Load Limit. Inspect rubber stoppers and catch mechanism before each lift. Lifting must be carried out by competent personnel in accordance with LOLER 1998.

• Pre-use inspection required before each lift, with thorough examination every six months under LOLER 1998
• Safety Restraint Net must be fitted to dedicated top-arm hooks before any lift involving loose materials
• Rubber stoppers must be present and in good condition on each side
• Ground personnel must stay clear of the lift zone during all operations
• Damaged units must be removed from service immediately
